Project Overview

JPMorgan Chase Bank hired Berglund Construction to restore the iconic façade and plaza at its tower in downtown Chicago. The work scope contained three primary components: granite repairs, sealant replacement and cleaning.

Approach

The granite repairs included repairing cracked granite soffit and sill and column cladding panels on the building façade. Cracked granite pavers at the plaza and surrounding sidewalks were removed and replaced as well.

The sealant replacement scope required removing and replacing the existing polyurethane sealant in the granite-to-granite and granite-to-metal joints on the exterior building façade.
